Winter Storm "Nemo"

Stupid name for a storm.  Does any one know why they started naming the storms?  Perhaps to help build the hype?  

Either way we saw a lot of snow.  A lot more than I've seen in the Boston area for at least a few years.  The cities' subways and busses were shut down, a driving ban went into effect, and there are still a good amount of people without power.  

It was a storm that shut everything down and I have to say; the day after was pretty nice outside.  After I dug out a little I took a walk in the neighborhood.  There was great energy.  So many people were out and about either digging out their cars or just taking a walk and enjoying themselves..  There were barely any cars on the road and it was really cool to walk around Davis Square taking it all in.
